Summer is drawing near so here’s some of my favorite beach film

We love summer. Spring, autumn, and winter are cool too. At least spring and autumn. But for obvious reasons, we really love summer. Last night it felt good to drive to the gym with the sun still shining. In Dallas, the trees start leafing out almost immediately after the clocks move forward.

To celebrate the fast approach of summer here's some of my favorite 35mm beach film from the last year. Enjoy!

This photo was taken at Torrey Pines State Park in August 2023. The lifeguard is hawking a group of people swimming far out.

A gull perches on the cliffs above Windandsea in La Jolla, CA. These gulls weren't afraid of people at all. It let me get pretty close and even held its pose!

Another shot from La Jolla, California. I love the Mediterranean vibes of Southern California. There's something very beautiful about cliffs meeting sea.

And yet another shot from La Jolla, CA. I promise I've been to other beaches.

Can you guess where this was taken? I guess my last trip to Southern California was fruitful for film photos.

Last one I promise. This is at La Jolla Tide Pools. There were quite a few people in the water this morning despite the waves not being great. Sometimes it feel nice to just paddle around and get salty.
