Do Sun Potions Mineral Sunscreens leave a white cast?

Once upon a time, Sun Potions Mineral Sunscreens did leave a white cast. Thankfully, we've managed to create a Clear Zinc Formula that still utilizes non-nano zinc oxide while eliminating the white cast. We also have a line of Tinted Face + Body Mineral Sunscreens that contain mica and iron oxides for easy blending with a variety of warm and cool skin tones and pigmentations. 

What is the shelf life of Sun Potions Products?

Sun Potions Mineral Sunscreens don't expire! None of our formulas include water as an ingredient and all of our ingredients are anti-microbial and anti-fungal. However, if your container of Sun Potions Mineral Sunscreen becomes tainted somehow, it can cause the products to spoil. The Balm and Tallow & Beeswax Lip Balm have a shelf life of 12 months. We do recommend keeping all products out of direct sunlight and storing in a cool, dry place when not in use.

How often should I reapply Sun Potions Sustainable Mineral Sunscreens?

Sun Potions should be reapplied every 80 minutes if you're swimming and/or sweating. 

Is Sun Potions safe for children?

Yes! Sun Potions is safe for children! We don't use any harmful ingredients in our sunscreen. Sun Potions is great for all ages and all skin types. Sun Potions is also reef safe and sustainable!

What is the return policy?

Do your tinted mineral sunscreens blend well with various skin tones?

Yes our tinted mineral sunscreens blend well with various skin tones! We have three different tints that work with a variety of warm and cool skin tones so there’s something for everyone!

Why do you use Grass Fed & Grass Finsihed Tallow in your organic body balms?

We use grass fed & grass finished tallow in our organic body and lip balms because it’s more sustainable. The animal is eating a diet that nature intended which leads to a higher quality meat and fat, better improved animal welfare, and better soil management. This is turn creates an organic body and lip balm that is better for you!

Are all reef safe mineral sunscreens made with non-nano zinc oxide?

This is a tricky question and the answer is - not necessarily. Non-nano zinc oxide is very reef safe but more research is needed to determine if nano zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are reef safe. Nano zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are more reef safe than conventional UV filters like oxybenzone, avobenzone, and octinoxate. And many sunscreens that use nano zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are advertised as reef safe but as of now, we’re not sure if anything besides non-nano zinc oxide is totally reef safe. We only use non-nano zinc oxide in our mineral sunscreens so they are 100% reef safe!

Human-Made means that our sustainable products are made by humans and for humans. We produce everything in small batches with ingredients that are actually good for you & good for the Earth.
